We can’t take the credit for the design of the Thunderbay, as it’s a virtual stitch for stitch replica of an original 1930s jacket in our archives. In fact, the Thunderbay is a jacket that was worn by the founder of Aero Leathers for many years until it became too delicate for everyday wear, and thanks to some sterling work by David Macks, we have been able to identify the maker of the original jacket as Franco Canadian.
The Thunderbay jacket is exceptionally functional and ideal for protection from the very worst of weather – after all, the original stood up to decades of Scottish winters! There are two deep Moleskin lined hand warmer pockets, and the combination of the fur collar, heavy Horsehide, and Shearling lining keep the wearer snug and dry.
The fur collar, the adjustable belt, and the stud cuffs keep out any wind or cold that might otherwise get in. The Thunderbay leather jacket is one of the warmest jackets in the entire Aero range; there will be few jackets on the market that are better suited to the harsh Winter conditions.
