Our 1940s Raglan Sleeve Letterman’s Jacket is in the classic post WW2 Wool & Horsehide Baseball Jacket style. This men’s raglan sleeve varsity style jacket is available in three base wool colours, Blue, Bottle Green, and Black.
Each letterman jacket is hand cut from heavy duty 21oz Melton Wool and fitted with single width Pure Wool striped ribbed jersey, which is far more typical of the era than the usual double thickness jersey that is de rigueur these days. The Shawl Collar is also unique to the era, while the stylish raglan Horsehide leather sleeve (again typical of the 1940s) is very rare in modern reproductions, as are the period correct double folded cuffs.
All in all, we’ve recreated a true classic from the 1940s without even the merest hint of compromise. And to top it all off, we have used contrasting colour studs. We have a small number of vintage chenille patches are also available; these are mostly Canadian made and date from the 1960s-1980s, but are identical in style to those from the 1940s.
